Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth

rio celeste

Rio Celeste is one of the most enchanting places in Costa Rica! The river is located in Tenorio Volcano National Park of Costa Rica. The source of the river’s distinctive turquoise color is a physical phenomenon known as Mie scattering. Rio Celeste is fed by two colorless rivers, the Buenavista River and Sour Creek. Buenavista River carries a large concentration of aluminosilicate. Sour Creek, as its name implies, has a high acidity due to volcanic activity. When these two streams mix to form Rio Celeste. This is a natural miracle you can’t miss!

Talking about the slowest mammal on earth, here in Costa Rica we have two different species: the two-fingered and three-fingered sloth, Both are amazingly cute, the three-fingered sloth has a permanent smile on its face, their diets are based on leaves, and as they are slow so is their digestive system, are you want to learn more about this amazing creatures join us!

All in the company of the amazing wildlife and biodiversity of the area, this experience is a great way to relax enjoy nature and all followed by a delicious lunch!
