Arenal Volcano
Is a dormant andesitic stratovolcano in North-western Costa Rica around 90 km Northwest of San Jose in the province of Alajuela Canton of San Carlos and district of La Fortuna, we are now volcano measures at least 1,633 km 5,358 ft High; it is chronically shaped with a crater of 140 m in diameter.
Geologically considered a young volcano and it is estimated to be less than 7,500 years old. The Rain Forest houses 35 species of fish to 135 species of reptile that includes turtles; you can also spot Congo monkeys Colorado and white-face monkeys, tepezcuintles, deer’s, pizotes and more.. 53% of the species that make up the national bird population live here, a Paradise for birdwatchers.
